How can we find hope in the fear, in the separation, in the unpredictable, in the ugly?
When my heart is sagging, I find hope in His Word. Let the Scriptures speak for themselves:
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Psalm 9:18 But the needy will not be ignored forever; the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.
Psalm 33:22 May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.
Psalm 130:5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not grow tired.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Lamentations 3:24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Romans 5:3-5 We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Romans 15:12 Isaiah says, “There will be a root from Jesse. He will rise to rule the nations, and he will give the nations hope.”
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
1 Timothy 4:9-10 9 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. 10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
Titus 3:7 …so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
1 Peter 1:3-4 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God has great mercy, and because of his mercy he gave us a new life. This new life brings us a living hope through Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death. 4 Now we wait to receive the blessings God has for his children. These blessings are kept for you in heaven. They cannot be ruined or be destroyed or lose their beauty.
Heavenly Father, I lift my eyes to You this day in hope of things I cannot see, knowing that You are my Light in the darkness, my Living Water in the desert, my Songbird in the morning. I return Your love, and pass it forward, asking that Your seeds of hope be harvested and grown hundredfold.
