Many Rooms

My Father’s house has many rooms. If that were not true, would I have told you that I’m going to prepare a place for you? John 14:2

As I asked the Holy Spirit for wisdom, comprehension,

insight into those red-letter words in my Bible

one verse stood out that caused confusion:

“My Father’s house has many rooms.”

Where are these rooms and

who are they for?

Ah! One such

room is

me.

  1. Thank, Susan, for checking out my blog. I find it interesting that the Lord was also talking to you about the same things lately, the door and the many rooms in Father’s houise.

“As I though about these things I saw a picture of a hotel lobby from above with a main entrance at one end. All around its perimeter were doors that opened in to the rooms in the hotel. In the middle of the lobby Jesus stood, asking to be let into one of the rooms. The hotel was my heart. Years ago I had let Him in (see Revelations 3:20), but that was as far as He had gotten. The lobby was His but not all the rooms…”

    1. Amen, Michael. He wants so much to love us – if we allow it. ❤

      1. Yes, Susan, the more of my “mansion” I turn over to Him one room at a time, the more I realize that no matter how deep the paint of this healing process goes, it is worth it to know Jesus completely as the one who makes ALL things work together for my good as He fills up my voids with His love.

  2. Hiya Susan –
Lovely (and concise – so wonderfully concise!!) 🙂

I wonder also if we imagine a five star hotel – “out there” somewhere – being readied for when we leave this world and enter His “reception”.
Never realising that He prepares us for this room, we and this toom are one and the same thing – already being prepared – even as we are being prepared.
I kinda like the thought of the “here and now” – rather than the “then not yet”.

    1. Yes, the light bulb went on as I thought about, “we and this room are one and the same thing.” I believe the preparation is ongoing, and embraces that dichotomy of the “already/ not yet,” as in, he is not finished with us yet. We are this room “under construction,” always being made more architecturally sound to reflect his image.

    1. Thank you, Tom. That discovery – such an epiphany. I, too, am listening to the birds chirping outside my door. Lovely after the newness of His rain – His reign. Joyful.

      Blessings to you and Carolyn.
