Love is the Way

Prose or Poetry

Lately I find myself writing poetry instead of prose. I have done my best to write prose of exhortation IMHO. It simply isn’t me. The messages just don’t reveal themselves in prose anymore. I am certain the prose will come again. Until that time, I must acknowledge the fluency and ease with which the Spirit’s words flow through me.

from The Bible miniseries

Love is the Way

To bring the world back to our God,

Reach out wherever you may be

In honest, grace filled dialogue

With Jesus’ gracious, kind mercy.

His love comes first, we know it’s true;

He loved us first before we knew

To trust Him with our every thought.

His way of love’s the way we’re taught.

Had Christ not loved the fishermen,

Or Matthew, hated by his kin,

Or Mary, who anointed Him,

They’d not seen Jesus’ face again.

We cannot fall back to condemn

Or rant and rave ‘bout us and them.

God wants all people to Him brought;

If not through love, there will be naught.

  1. A lovely & very touching poem. The more we ponder God’s love the more we become in awe of him
    I don’t even know what Prose is…

    1. 🙂 Thanks, Tony. Prose is what we do; just writing from our hearts.

  2. Just being at peace with God. Allowing Him to rest in our hearts. All are precious in His sight. A beautiful poem Susan.

    Blessings to you Sister

    1. Thanks for your continued encouragement Tom. It means so much when I hear your voice.

      1. Same here dear Susan.

  3. You write beautiful in both so you just pick the one you like best! 🙂 ❤

    1. Thank you, Natalie.

  4. I totally agree. It is so difficult to be rigid in a particular way of thinking. All that is needed is to listen to Jesus.

  5. I absolutely LOVE your last line … If not through love, there will be naught…., Susan. Beautiful beautiful poem. Your writing just keeps getting better … in the LONG periods of time I don’t get here and then when I am here I really see the difference. As for flow, just follow your Heart. I’ve learned to trust that Inner Urging. There are days I have nothing written yet I don’t despair. I know the words will come. They always do. The words for example on Petals today came last evening. They matched perfectly to the image I just had taken that very day earlier as well. See how the Spirit works? It’s all about “blind faith” and “trust”. (smile) It feels SO good to be here today!! Thank you for shining your Beautiful Light my way! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. It is truly about faith and trust, Amy. Thank you for that, Light shines both ways. Hugs back. 🙂

  9. Beautiful, dear sister!!! Thanks for letting the Spirit lead and for sharing!

    1. Thank you, Heidi. So difficult when I try to go against the Spirit. Been attempting to push out prose, but it hasn’t been working. (Doh!) Finally surrendered. Lots of flowers blooming now.
