“I MAY LOSE SOME READERS FOR THIS”
One reason I do not do political, social, religious commentary cartoons as followers want a relief from that to enjoy simple silly humor. But when it comes to a blog addressing such matters one must take a stand and proceed unabashed. We do not “turn the other cheek” when exposing injustice and anti Christian rhetoric for such is like denying the Christ. When we don’t confront evil. Billy Graham said it is like denying the Christ which is effect recrucifying the Christ !

Why do people support him? It could be because they feel despised by prosperous Americans; so the more he is despised, the more mocked, even the more proved a lying, cheating fantasist, the more enthusiastic their support will be.

Thanks for the link, Clare. And yes, that may be one reason. But we choose to turn a blind eye to history so easily. When rhetoric taps into hatred and fear, it allows us to reveal our willingness to blame anyone but ourselves for the mess we’ve gotten into. The group-think of responding to a charismatic leader blaming a people group for a nation’s ills is not a new phenomenon, and the old saying, “It will never happen here,” is happening.
