Cancer, diabetes, bipolar, addictions,
Who cares if we live or die
as long we’re no longer
in the womb.
Seniors and the poor face
higher costs and less coverage;
babies born sick get none.
Where has compassion gone?
Is this still my country?
People in the top 1% of wealth
get a $600 billion tax cut as part of
this “health care” bill
while Medicaid is cut by
nearly a trillion dollars.
States will opt out of AHCA
because they don’t want to pay
for insurance or health care
for those who cannot afford it,
for those who are in desperate need,
or for those of whom they disapprove.
Insurance companies opted out of
ACA because they don’t make money.
Drug companies continue to
inflate costs just because they can.
Regulate them, not us!
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it for one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it for me!’” (Matthew 25: 34-40)
The AHCA comes up for discussion in the Senate in June. Contact your State senator – listed by State – to express your opinion on the health care bill. Let your voice be heard.
