Branches Devotional Workbooks

“I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I and you, you will produce much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing.” John 15:5

For the last eight years, I have been writing Branches Devotional Collection, a devotional Bible series for New Believers, Christian families and people who simply want to grow in their faith. I have been able to write this study through a two-year course in Bible interpretation, my own reading and research on theology, grace and mercy, my experience in being open to the hearts and minds of others, and the prompting of the Holy Spirit who reminds me daily of the words of Jesus.

Throughout all of this, I have come to the conclusion that what matters is not our learned theology or doctrine, nor our pointing out of sin or judgment of others. It is the invitation to all of the acceptance of the unconditional love and radical grace of our Father through Jesus. It is the value and the importance of learning what the words of Jesus, carried to us from our Father truly mean. It is our ministry of reconciliation, not accusation. It is in this spirit, I have written these Devotionals.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (2 Cor.5:16-20)

Each week, these devotionals comprise an introductory Bible passage, a life application, a biblical role model and an end-of-week review. Four days per week to schedule as you choose throughout the months of the readings. The activities are not mandatory, yet if you choose to do them, they will enhance your understanding and allow you to go deeper in your journey with Jesus.

You’ll find a Branches Devotional Workbook can help you

  • Become more familiar with your Bible
  • Take the uncertainty and apprehension out of reading God’s Word
  • Show you the story of Jesus throughout the entire Bible
  • Connect you with the heart of God
  • Give you an understanding of and connection to the Holy Spirit inside you
  • Allow you to see the true Gospel of love, grace and mercy
  • Open the door to a daily, intimate relationship with God

As you read, respond to the questions and do the activities, you will see how each Devotional takes small but significant portions of God’s Word and illustrates how they are reoccurring themes throughout the Bible. You can see the threads that connect it all into a giant, woven pattern that is the beautiful tapestry, from Genesis to Revelation, of God’s restoration for all of creation through Jesus Christ. 1. You’re welcome, Eloise. They truly are focused on Jesus, on how He reflects the unconditional love and breathtaking grace of our Father, and how our mission is to do the same. I pray others will see that and abide in this mission of reconciliation for all.

Good for you Susan! So many new believers need guidance through scriptures. I used to teach a class called “Babes in Christ” years ago and still will do a bible study if I have a chance with a new convert…

  9. I feel like a Sixth grader, Susan, as I love all of Paul’s writings. This s so nice. I don’t have a family to share these kinds of materials with but I myself appreciate them. This must be such creative and satisfying project. What is there more important to do with our time than to attend to First things first?

    1. Thanks so much, Beth. It has truly been my calling for the last four years. The editing process has been difficult because my learning has been exponential in the last year. That, and my printer is on its last legs and I can’t afford a new one and it’s so difficult to edit on screen.

I am slowly plugging away, and once the editing is complete, I’m going to begin sending out query letters to publishers, but that probably won’t happen until the end of this year. I’m not in a great hurry; I know it’s all in God’s timing.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, as always. 🙂
